More than Happy Father’s Day!

Posted on June 22, 2009 ·Tagged , , .

It is but fitting to post a blog about the  “daddies” in my life. We just celebrated Father’s Day yesterday (i really thought it was last June 14 hehe) and I just want to recognize all the wonderful dads in my life.

First on my list, is of course, my uber sweet husband who’s coming home really soon. He’s a new dad to super kulet Cerise but so far I have no complaints. Rannie has the markings of a great dad (naks naman!). I’m sure our daughter will like to hang around with him, listen to his stories and will never fail to make our daughter feel that she’s our little princess.  As Rannie always say… “only the best for our sweet Cerise” (wait ’til the next baby comes onboard hahaha!)

My dad, Papa Howard, was the first one to sent me his greeting last Sunday. I kinda greeted him in advance last June 14 and all the other fathers I know including Papa Randy and Kuya Ryan…funny when I greeted Kuya last June 14, he began texting all his dad buddies, only to find out that Father’s day is on the 21st (way to go Karina hahah!).

They say that fathers, like mothers, are not born. They go into a process and eventually accept the responsibility to become good, if not the best, role models for their children.  They are our source of strength and guidance. The more they get involved in their children’s lives, the stronger their bond with their sons and daughters become.

We’re still learning the ropes of good parenting and the dads and moms in our lives have pretty much given us some really good pointers on how to go about it.  I do pray that we raise our kid(s) well. We can never be perfect parents… but surely we’ll try as hard as we can to raise God-fearing, loving and responsible children as our way to give back God’s greatest blessings!

TMNB :)
