“Rennethlytine”
“Rennethlytine” is a name my mom (missin’ u sobra ma!) creatively put together…kombinasyon siya ng dulong part ng names namin..Ren (Karen), Neth (Kenneth), Ly (Kimberly) and Tine (Kristine). I find this really baduy when I was growing up…pero now that I’m all grown up, cool pala siya huh, and unique! Thanks ma!
Last night, I got a text message from my sister, Kristine, we sometimes call her Joy, but me, I always call her “Bebs.” The text message is this:

well i ges, i jz realyzd,
“ang lungkot pla pg dna tyo nagkakasama lyk b4.”
Well, it’s true. Hiwa-hiwalay kaming magkakapatid ngayon. Si Kenneth nakatira sa GF niya, si Mae (kimberly) lives with our Tita Encee sa Pasay together with our Lola, Bebs stays with Odeng (a real friend of the family!) in Caloocan and me with my in-laws at Commonwealth Avenue.

I missed the old days. For 25 years I lived at Magno Subdivision together with my parents, siblings and grandparents. Simple lang kaligayahan namin and we seldom go out…kuntento na kami ng mga kapatid ko na kami-kami lang magkakasama, kasama na rin mga pinsan namin since we live in the same compound.
But things do change. We woke up one morning and realized that we don’t live in the same house anymore. Especially when our mom died…things got really confusing. My siblings told me once that they were, I guess, shocked when I decided to get married. Feeling nila nawalan sila ng Ate no thanks to Rannie hehe. Pero my husband naman proved himself to my family and he showed to them how much he truly loves me, kaya natanggap na rin nila eventually.
But I’m praying na maayos din ang lahat. I’m still hoping to have my sisters live with me and make Ompus our second home. I pray too that my brother realizes his mistakes and mahanap na niya peace of mind and real happiness niya!
Sabi nga nila “blood is thicker than water.” We may not be together physically but our love for each other will continue to transcend boundaries. I love you so much guys!
