Chattie Chat
My husband and I had a looongg chat a while ago. We we’re planning some stuff to do when he comes home for his vacation. Rannie wants to go to Tagaytay. According to him, that’s the only place near enough that’s classified “out-of-town” plus we can bring Cerise with us because it’s not the far.
But I also told him, after our Tagaytay trip that I would love to go to Tiendesitas, Serendra and Rockwell. Funny, I’ve been living in QC all my life, and I have never visited any of these places!
Kasi, since my husband became a seafarer, I seldom go out. Hanggang SM North lang ako. I just don’t feel like going to malls without my husband. Seeing couples do grocery shopping and buying stuff together makes me miss him so much! I just go to the nearest supermarket when I need to buy stuff for my baby and for myself.
Also, I think this set-up will be good for Cerise…since we will only go out, and I mean really go out, when her daddy’s here. I guess that’ll keep her grounded and not be too materialistic when she grows older. A lot of kids associate malls with buying stuff and always getting what they want. I want to teach her that it doesn’t matter if it’s in a mall or a park, as long as she, her dad and mom are having great family bonding moment together. And that us going out doesn’t necessarily mean buying toys!
It’ll be hard not to spoil our little girl but Rannie and I need to set things straight, lead by example, and focus on the values that shaped us - her parents.
The way I was raised, I owe it to my Mom, Nanay, Titos and Titas. They were really strict while I was growing up and I thank them for being that way. Otherwise, I wouldn’t be the daughter, granddaughter, sibling, wife and mom that I am now.
